When can I become a member?

You can become a member at any meeting. You are welcome to attend as a guest for a few meetings to find out what Toastmasters is and if it is right for you.

How do I become a member?

After you decide to join our club, just let any member know you would like to sign up. He or she will introduce you to an officer who can help. You will need to fill out a short application form with your name, address, phone number(s) and e-mail address. After your application is complete, the club will vote to accept your application. Have a check payable to "Star Search Toastmasters" for the appropriate amount listed in the table below.
If you like, you can download the membership application here, and fill it out ahead of time.

What happens after I sign-up?

After your application is accepted, you will receive a Communication and Leadership Manual to use until your new member packet arrives from Toastmasters International. We do this so you won?t have to wait to start receiving the benefits of the program. Since your new member packet will contain a manual, please return your extra copy to the club.

When you are ready to give your first "Icebreaker" speech, just add your name to the sign-up sheet for a speaking role in a future meeting (next week, next month, or whenever you are ready). We encourage you to also volunteer for other meeting roles, such as Jokemaster, Toastmaster, Master Evaluator, and others.

As you participate in the meetings and become familiar with how the Toastmasters program works, you will start seeing the benefits of the program both in yourself and other members.

Welcome to the club!

Is there a membership fee?

Yes. The total amount to join is listed in the table below. This amount is broken up into the following fees:

  • Toastmasters International New Member fee. This covers a new member packet including the Communication and Leadership Manual, and other introductory information.

  • Toastmasters International dues. This covers a subscription to The Toastmaster magazine.

  • Club new member fee.

  • Club dues. This covers the costs to the club for educational materials, club community programs, awards, and other club expenses.

For new members, dues are prorated for the remaining time left in the term (April-September or October-March).

For continuing members, dues of $36 ($9 club dues + $27 international dues) are collected semi-annually in March and September.

DUES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE. However, international dues can be transfered to another club for the remainder of a term. Club dues and fees are not transferable. Fees for New Members
