What happens at a Star Search Toastmasters Meeting? Our goal is to give everyone a chance to speak at every Toastmasters meeting, and for everyone to have fun!
Some members will give prepared speeches, working towards their next achievement level, or perhaps presenting a tutorial on some aspect of speaking or club functions. Others will give short talks during Table Topics to practice impromptu speaking. Still others will give a short talk evaluating the prepared speeches, to provide feedback to the speaker for future improvement.
There are other speaking roles, such as Toastmaster, Table Topics Master and GENERAL EVALUATOR, where a member takes charge for a portion of the meeting, giving them a chance to gain practice leading a group. There are still other roles needed for a successful meeting that involve shorter talks, and are often done by newer members as they 'come up to speed".
Here is a sample agenda, showing the activities and approximate timing for
a "typical" meeting. Some meetings have special themes or activities,
so may be different in duration or content.
